The school will host their annual Prom Closet to help students find their perfect dress for a perfect prom night. This event will be held in the AHS girls locker room from 10:00-12:00 this Saturday.  

Prom Closet is an event that helps girls who cannot afford a dress, still look their best for prom. The goal of this event is to provide a free dress to girls who would otherwise be unable to afford a dress.  Prom is an important night to most young girls which is why the school hosts this event so that the all girls can attend.

Prom can get pricey when it comes to buying a dress, shoes, jewelry, tickets, etc. A dress can range in price from  between $100 to $600 and tickets are $30. That is  not counting shoes and jewelry which can run upwards of another $100 plus dollars. For some, the cost of prom makes the event seem unattainable, the Prom Closet hopes to eliminate some of the financial stress of the event. 

Spanish teacher Anabel McMillen sponsors the event and any girl who needs a dress is welcome to attend. More information is in room #334.

“I love being able to help these girls and it is so special for me to know that they will have such a great night” Anabel McMillen said.
