The Lady Sandies defeated the number one ranked team in the state, Manfield-Timberview, to claim their position in the state finals. The will play the state game against Fort Bend Hightower on Feb. 29 – March 2.
Timberview was a familiar foe as it was the team they defeated to gain the state title last year. This marks the first time since 1992-1993 that the Sandies have had back-to-back state runs.
