As the weather gets colder with the holidays quickly approaching, unique fall decorations seem to grow in necessity. To comply with that growing need, five crafts to make at home during fall include:
───────────────────────
Tassel Garland
Supplies:
Yarn (Suggested colors: white, orange, black)
String
Scissors
Hot glue gun (optional)
Instructions: Wrap the first color of yarn around your hand about 20 times. Using the same color of yarn, tie the top to keep it together and cut the loops only on the bottom. Repeat these steps to make a total of nine tassels. With a string, either loop it through the top, use a hot glue gun, or tie them to secure the yarn to the string.

Clay Leaf
Supplies:
Air dry or polymer clay
Paint (Preferred colors)
Leaf (optional)
Toothpick or sculpting tools
Instructions: Roll out and flatten the clay. Start by pressing a fake leaf into the clay to make an imprint of the veins. If not, use a toothpick or sculpting tools to make the design. Define the grooves and cut the clay out into the shape of the leaf, and use water to smooth out any imperfections. If air dry clay was used, set the leaf in a spot and let it sit till dry. For polymer clay, bake in the oven at 275 F for 15-30 minutes per one-fourth inch of clay. Check the package for the most accurate times. Once dry, paint the entire dish.

Clay Ghosts
Supplies:
Air dry or polymer clay
Black and white paint
Toothpick or sculpting tools
Instructions: Shape the clay into a small rounded cone-ish shape. With a toothpick or sculpting tools, hollow out two holes for the eyes. Towards the bottom, pinch the clay to form a sheet-like look. Use water to make it look seamless, and let air dry in a clean, open space or bake the polymer clay according to the packaging. Once done, paint the eyes black and the body white.

Terracotta Pot Scarecrow
Supplies:
Two terracotta pots
Paint (Colors: black, yellow, orange, red, and brown)
Straw
Hot glue gun (optional)
Instructions: Sketch a scarecrow face on the first pot, and paint it, along with the very top of the pot. On the second, flip it upside down and paint patches. Stack the two pots on top of each other with the face on top. If made for use as a permanent decoration, use hot glue so the different pieces will not fall apart. Stuff the top pot full of straw.

Pom Pom Pumpkins
Supplies:
Yarn (Colors: orange and green)
Scissors
Instructions: Wrap orange yarn multiple times over your hand. The more times, the denser the pompom will be. Use green yarn to tie it through the middle tightly so the pom pom will not come apart in the future. With scissors, cut through each loop of orange yarn and shape the pom pom into a sphere. If the green is not obvious, tie it around until it resembles a stem.
