Sinister Review

Sinister+Review

Both the creepy and the crawly come out in the dead of night to spook the innocent and scare the nation. This Halloween is the time to bring out the scares and terrors of this spooky season.
The movie “Sinister” does just that and happens to be one of the best horror films out there. It gives a good scare and brings out the real frightening truth of all the things that could happen. This movie is not your everyday normal horror movie with terrors that will haunt you. The movie starts with a small family moving from their loving home to one that comes off as the opposite. The husband, Ellison Oswald, thrives as a famous writer who wrote the book “Kentucky Blood.” To pursue his dreams of becoming a writer, he moves into a house where a murder has taken place to try and find the topic of his next book. Little does he know he just walked in on something far more evil. While exploring his new home he stumbles upon an old box of tapes located in the attic which holds something sinister.
Throughout the movie, the climax of suspense and thriller helps pull in the brutal reality of what is truly going on. The fearful aspects of losing a child or even being haunted by a far more evil spirit help bring the movie alive. I would recommend this movie to people who truly love to watch something scary. Some of the scenes can be graphic at times, but I would rate the graphics and story an 8 out of 10.
I do wish they had made it more visually appealing to the audience by adding more horror elements to the show. The graphics at points made it very hard to see and confusing. if you enjoy slow climaxes and not knowing when the next scare will jump out at you this movie does just that. One downside to the movie happens to be that the story also happens to be hard to follow, so you have to make sure that you are paying attention or you will miss a major part of the movie. Despite Sinister having these downfalls, the plot and the story were a 10 out of 10. My favorite part of the movie is when Ellison meets the police officer who wants to hang out and help him with his book. I find him so sweet and cute, and he adds a bright side to this movie.
Sinister is a great movie to start with if you are just getting into horror movies. Personally, I recently watched it and it happened to be amazing, I was constantly anticipating what would happen next. Overall, Sinister is a great movie to watch with your friends and to have a great time watching. I would not recommend this movie if you are scared of blood, due to it showing so much of it.
