With the day to send gifts to your loved ones, Valentine’s Day, fast approaching the best way to show your affection is to make and give away heartfelt sweets. Here is a list of recipes for three easy and tasty treats that will guarantee a smile from anyone who receives them:
Strawberry White Chocolate Cake Cookies
Ingredients:
1 boxed strawberry cake mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup flour
1 egg
1 cup white chocolate chips
Note: cookies should be soft and cakey
Instructions:
Add the egg, flour, water and oil into a large bowl and whisk together. Then add cake mix to the bowl in small increments until the ingredients combine into a soft dough. After forming the dough, fold in the white chocolate chips. Then using a tablespoon or small cookie scooper, scoop the batter and form it into a ball, then place it on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Place into the oven and bake at 350 F for 8-10 minutes.
Red Velvet Cake Balls
Ingredients:
1 boxed red velvet cake mix
1 (16 ounce) cream cheese frosting
1 (24 ounce) white chocolate almond bark
Valentine sprinkles of your choice
Instructions:
Bake the box cake mix according to the instructions on the box and let cool. In a bowl, mix a cup of frosting. Once a cookie dough-like mixture is formed, roll it into a ball shape and freeze for an hour. Then dip them in the melting chocolate, add valentine sprinkles and let them harden.
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Ingredients:
1 (7 ounce) milk chocolate melting wafer
1 one-pound container of strawberries
Note: For an optional topping, add Valentine’s sprinkles and/ or different-colored melting chocolate.
Instructions:
Wash your strawberries and leave the leaves on. Melt the chocolate according to the instructions on the package. Then take the strawberries by the stem and dip them in the chocolate up to the strawberry’s red edge. Spin the strawberry slowly while you do this to ensure all sides are covered. Last, lift the strawberry out of the chocolate, let the excess drip into the bowl and place on a piece of parchment paper to harden. Repeat this process for the rest of the strawberries and let them harden for around 30 minutes.
