The countdown to homecoming starts tonight with the annual Homecoming parade.
The basketball teams will host their annual pre-parade cookout which includes a hamburger or hotdog, chips and a drink for $6.
The parade will start at AHS and go down Fulton and around Puckett. The theme for this year’s parade is “Time Travel”.
Thirty-three groups and clubs will participate in the parade representing everything from Braveheart to the 2000s.
The route for this year’s parade will start at Danbury North and down Fulton to Langtry and from there down Sandie Dr. and back to AHS.
Friday, Oct. 4 Amarillo High will have its homecoming pep rally with a theme of Wizard of Oz. The game will start at 7 with the theme ‘gold and black’.
At halftime, they will announce the homecoming king and queen. The nominees for this year’s homecoming court are Zion Bentley, Tyler Hendrick, David Herrera, Sara Keister, Jake Laminack, Cooper Manning, Josh Meason, Caden Merrick, Ryen Parsons, Tyler Morgan, Hadley Paddock and Braelyn Tingle.
