WWE’s Monday Night Raw. It is the longest running tv show since 1993, the show has the best storytelling and the best wrestling matches. Here is a rundown of the most recent episode to date Sept. 23, 2024.
The show kicks off with the Women’s World Heavyweight Champion Liv Morgan and her kayfabe boyfriend “dirty” Dominik Mysterio pulling up to the arena in Dom’s Lowrider. When they park the car, the couple walks into the arena. While they were walking, Braun Stroman tackled “big” Bronson Reed into a merch stand which turned into a brawl. As the brawl went on, Liv and Dom made their entrance and did their victory lap around ringside. Liv cuts a promo on how she took everything away from her opponent for the pay-per-view, Rhea Ripley. Liv gets interrupted by Rhea and she makes her way to the ring. Rhea cuts a promo on how she will take back the women’s championship and how Dom always helps Liv beat Rhea for the title and why she wins everytime they face off. Rhea reveals that Dominik will hang from a shark cage during their match at bad blood and then headbutts Liv and leaves the ring as Dom comforts Liv that cuts into a commercial break.
After the commercial break, the camera cuts into a backstage segment where Miz was preparing for his match against Bronson Reed. Karion Kross walks in and starts to play mind games on him. Telling Miz that the locker room thinks that the match will be a bad idea and how messed up that no one respects him anymore. After Miz asks what he is seeking, Karion explains that he wants Miz to become his old self when he had been a heel and would do whatever it takes to win. “Monsters come in all different shapes and sizes,” Karrion said. “They do,” Miz said, then cuts to commercial break.
After the commercial break Bronson Reed made his entrance until Braun Stroman hit Reed with a diving clothesline from the barricade and choke-slammed him on the ring apron. As Bronson rolls into the ring Miz starts to argue with Stroman, but when they are distracted Reed hits both of them with a dive through the ropes. Bronson rolls Braun into the ring so he could do his finisher “the tsunami”, but security rushes to the ring before he could hit the move. Braun and Reed wipe out the security with chokeslams and punches. After they beat up all the security they each go for a clothesline and collide with each other causing the ring to shake. Security tries to separate the two men but the two monsters start beating up security again, then Stroman hits Reed with a dropkick causing him to fall outside the ring.
The camera cuts to a segment with “The New Day” talking about last week. Xavier Woods apologizes about lashing out on Kofi Kingston last week. The Latino World Order walks in and the leader, Rey Mysterio tries to apologize to Woods for interfering in their match. Xavier Continued to be mad about last week and insulted him about his son. Woods becomes paranoid and thinks that Rey does not respect him because Rey is a former world champion. Kofi tries to calm Woods down but Xavier thinks that Kingston wants to chime in because Kofi is a former world champion as well. Rey challenges Woods to a match for next week’s Raw. Woods accepts then cuts to a commercial break.
After the commercial break, Drew Mcintyre makes his entrance to the ring and cuts a promo about his match against Cm Punk inside a steel cage at the next pay-per-view. He talks about how he does not want to fight inside the cage ever again and like how Punk’s family told him not to do the match, Drew’s family did as well. for Drew, it does not matter what anyone thinks, and he promises that he will do a bunch of really bad stuff to punk.
In the main event, Jey Uso versus Bron Breaker for the Intercontinental championship. Bron spears Jey on the floor and throws him into the ring. Bron goes for another spear, but Uso counters the move with his own spear for the win. Jey Uso wins the intercontinental championship and the show ends.
Ever since Paul Leveque has taken over WWE, the show has reached new heights of excellence since the late 1990’s because the storytelling and matches raise the bar in pro wrestling. Tonight’s Monday Night Raw effectively shows just how Leveque has made the show better.
