Anticipation rolled across the court as Sienna Cavalier ran up to the souring volleyball. As she jumped towards it, lifting her arm for a spike, the crowd stilled. Silence enveloped Cavalier until the strike of the ball echoed throughout concrete walls as she performed her infamous kill. Students and parents erupted in cheers, and the team presented a poster to Cavalier after the game.
On September 24, at the volleyball game against Dalhart, Cavalier broke the school record of 1,100 volleyball kills.
“It feels really special, especially with all the hard work I put into this sport,” Cavalier said. “It definitely makes me feel really good about myself.”
While Sienna’s dedication to the sport scores school records such as these, her teamwork speaks volumes about the kind of person she strives to be.
“It’s not only about me on the team or me getting a kill, but I feel like it just helps them with the trust on me getting the job done,” Cavalier said.
Cavalier has high hopes for the following season and years. With her team’s encouragement and effort, Cavalier expects exceptional results at playoffs and wishes to attend college for volleyball.
“I’m really looking forward to playoffs,” Cavalier said. “After season is over, I’m going to play college volleyball.”
