E.S.D tutors, work with students Pre-K through fith grade. Participating in hands-on activities with a selected group of kids. Some of these activities include coloring, reading, science activities, learning games, brain breaks and any other sort of lessons tutors in E.S.D provide for them. Each student must have a lesson to complete even if they do not have homework to do. Tutors must check the students’ homework folders and homework as they complete it because students must complete homework before leaving campus. A major part of E.S.D includes providing a safe environment for students, and ensuring tutors always know their whereabouts. No child should ever go unaccounted for or left behind. E.S.D workers must update tracking sheets in real time, meaning tutors will always have an eye on the student or know where they are. This rule remains non-negotiable and could result in termination if tutors lose track of a student.
Many teens that apply for E.S.D would like to teach or work with kids when they get older. This job provides first hand experience needed to pursue one of those career paths. Some kids come from a hard home life, and need extra love. Tutors can provide them with that and make E.S.D a reason why they want to come to school each day.
As of now the district still need more tutors at some campuses. They require a certain number of tutors at each campus to ensure it runs smoothly. If a campus have too many students, and not enough tutors, it could affect how the program runs.
E.S.D is a great experience, for both tutors and students. Everyday tutors have the same flow as the day before so student know what to expect. The students in E.S.D will say all sorts of things but that indicates the tutors are doing their job correct.
In closing, those who enjoy kids, want a future career working with kids or even want to start a family, this job is perfect. Everyday tutors attain first hand experience with students and it could benefit them in the upcoming future.
