Sandie Revue is a tradition that the choirs have participated in for the past thirty years. This year’s theme was 1950’s swing dance and featured many mixed and solo acts from the choir students. Several of the acts featured members of the varsity show choir New Sound and they did not disappoint with their acts.
Sandie Revue was held from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 with several during school performances for the students and after school performances for the parents.
“In order to make Sandie Revue happen, we have several members of the choir boosters that help plan and organize the event,” Choir Director Bryan Hackett said. “We have parents that build the program, sell tickets and organize all of the aspects that go into a performance. We hired a live band, a sound engineer, a light technician and a choreographer. We began choreography in December. We have rehearsed daily for over a month and we had two evening rehearsals the week of the show.”
Some of the students do notfeel it did as well as they wanted it to.
“It was not organized correctly, we focused more on dances which we rushed in the first place and barely knew, and we barely knew the music, he trusted us to harmonize well with it”, Bel Canto member Tristan Ard said. “Barely knowing the dances and almost not knowing the music at all is a bad combination and I think it should be better organized next year.”
The audience had a good time watching Sandie Revue.
“Sandie Revue felt like a show put on by a bunch of friends, it was really enjoyable, my favorite act was HOTTOGO,” spectator Noble Jesco said.
Sandie Revue will return next year with a new cast, new acts and a different theme. We cannot wait to see what they have in store next year.
