The countdown to Homecoming week is approaching soon. This year’s festivities include the annual parade on Monday, the pep rally and football game on Friday, Sept. 19.
This year’s parade takes place on Monday, Sept. 15, starting at 6:3o p.m. The theme for the parade is Game Night.
Various clubs and sports will participate in the parade by dressing up in costumes and decorating floats that reflect the theme. The Lady Sandies Basketball will represent “Fortnite”, boys wrestling will be Cards and the Drama Club as the board game “Clue”.
The parade route starts at AHS on Danbury North and goes down Fulton to Langtry around Puckett, down Sandie Drive and back to AHS.

The game will start at 7 p.m.at Dick Bivins Stadium with the theme Checkmate. The game is against in city rival Palo Duro.
The Homecoming king and queen will be announced during halftime. The nominees for this year’s court include Alec Purdy, Austin Sluder, Devin Amphay, Elijah Keller, Ethan Steuer, Kierstan Freeman, Grace Hughes, Berklee Fluhman, Crystal Jimenez and Bodi Parks.
