On Friday, September 17th at Dick Bivins stadium, the Amarillo High Sandies faced the Frenship Tigers for the Sandies Homecoming game. In a well fought game, the Sandies won with a final score of 31-14, leaving the Sandies with a 3-1 season record.
The Sandies led the first quarter with a 7 point lead and a 20 yard fumble return from Cooper Ivey. Second quarter, Tate Bales Intercepted a 46 yard pass from Chad Pharies of Frenship, followed by a 10 yard gain later in the quarter by Tyreese Molden with a pass from Brock Wade of Amarillo High. Third quarter ended strongly for Amarillo High with a 53 yard run from Ethan Cowen and a 31 yard field goal from Luke Laminack. The Sandies ended the fourth quarter with a good defense leading to a win.
