With the traditional New Year’s resolutions most likely already broken, it is not too late to reset and create goals to help get through the second semester of school.
Start by making a checklist full of daily goals gives personal motivation for change. This will set the energy of motivation for the rest of the year.
“Setting goals for the new year helps me become a better version of myself,” sophomore Zoie Carrizales said. “It motivates me to apply good habits in my life.”
Forget past successes or failures and focus on the present. To make certain of a good year starts with a shift in mindset. Completely wiping all regret and struggle and setting a mindset on one positive topic will decipher what 2026 will look like.
“It’s always healthy to have a mindset shift before the new year,” sophomore Audrey Taylor said. “It gives me a fresh start and a positive outlook on the new year.”
One way to bettering day to day life involves applying challenges. This enhances new skills and achieves goals. Going through every day with one challenge will make the new year full of achievements and opportunities. For example, one could go on a walk, eat healthy or work out. Finding new hobbies is a way to apply challenges to the new year like starting a yoga class, going to a Bible study or investing in meditation.
“I always try to imply new hobbies into my life for the new year,” sophomore Emy Childress said. “I’m always proud of myself for picking up a new hobby or skill, it gives some healthy change.”
Applying these things to a daily routine will ensure a good 2026. Starting a year with these strategies will welcome healthy change.
